How free hits work (and how to turn them off)

A no-ball puts the next delivery on a free hit, shown as a red FREE HIT banner across the over timeline. On it the batter can only be dismissed run out, obstructing the field or hit the ball twice. Turn on No free hits in Gully Rules to disable them.
You cannot miss it
The over timeline is replaced by a red FREE HIT banner for exactly one delivery, so nobody has to remember or argue about it.
After a no-ball, the next ball is unmistakably a free hit.
What can get you out on a free hit
Only three things, and the app enforces it — arm WKT on a free hit and the dismissal list narrows to run out, obstructing the field and hit the ball twice, with a line explaining why. Bowled, caught and LBW simply aren't offered.
When the free hit ends
A legal delivery ends it — including a bye or leg-bye, which are legal balls.
A wide does not. The free hit survives and carries to the next delivery.
Another no-ball keeps it going, as you would expect.
Turning them off
Plenty of gully games don't play free hits. In Gully Rules, switch on No free hits and a no-ball is just a re-bowl — no banner, no restriction. It works in both Quick and Full Match.

Can you be out on a free hit?
Only run out, obstructing the field, or hitting the ball twice. Bowled, caught and LBW do not apply, and Gully Crix removes them from the list on a free-hit delivery.
Does a wide cancel a free hit?
No. A wide is not a legal delivery, so the free hit survives and carries to the next ball. Any legal delivery ends it — including a bye or leg-bye.
How do you turn off free hits in gully cricket?
Agree it before the game. In Gully Crix, switch on No free hits in Gully Rules and a no-ball becomes just a re-bowl.
