Which gully rules work in Quick Match vs Full Match?

Quick MatchFull Match

Quick Match has the three scoring rules: no runs for wides and no-balls, no free hits, and mid-match overs. The six squad-based rules — common player, unequal teams, late joiners, mid-match switches, last man standing and single-side batting — need named players, so they are Full Match only.

The split, and the logic behind it

Quick Match doesn't know who is playing — that is what makes it quick. Any rule that only touches the scoring itself works there. Any rule about people — who is on which team, who bats alone, who joins late — needs the named lineups that Full Match keeps.

  • Both modes — no runs for wides & no-balls · no free hits · change overs mid-match
  • Full Match only — common player · unequal teams · late joiners · move/swap/remove mid-match · last man standing · single-side batting

If your game leans on the squad rules every week, that is the sign to move to Full Match — you get career stats into the bargain.

People also ask

Which cricket rules can I customise without naming players?

Only the ones that touch scoring itself: no runs for wides and no-balls, no free hits, and changing the overs mid-match. Everything about who is playing needs named lineups.

Do I need to enter player names to use gully rules?

For the squad-based rules, yes — common player, unequal teams, late joiners, mid-match switching, last man standing and single-side batting all need to know who is playing.
